UK & Ireland, with direct responsibility for key accounts across the Midlands
Trusted Recruiter Ltd is recruiting on behalf of an established UK manufacturer within the specialist seating and furniture sector.
Due to continued growth, our client is creating a brand-new National Sales Manager position to lead and develop its field sales operation across the UK and Ireland.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales professional or sales manager who wants to play a key role in shaping the future commercial strategy of an established business.
Initially, this will be a hands-on sales leadership position, managing a team of three field-based sales professionals while personally developing key accounts across the Midlands. You will work closely with the Managing Director on sales strategy, growth plans, team development and the wider direction of the business.
As you develop a strong understanding of the business, customers and product range, there is the potential for the position to evolve into a more strategic and less hands-on national leadership role.
The Role
You will take overall responsibility for developing sales performance across a national network of dealers, distributors and specialist retailers.
A major focus will be growing existing accounts, re-engaging dormant customers and winning back business from competitors, while ensuring the field sales team has clear objectives and the support required to deliver them.
Alongside managing the national team, you will retain direct responsibility for key accounts and business development across the Midlands.
Key responsibilities will include
· Managing, coaching and developing a growing team of currently three field-based sales professionals.
· Developing and implementing the national sales strategy alongside the Managing Director.
· Managing and growing key dealer, distributor and retail accounts across the Midlands.
· Identifying opportunities to win back previous customers and reactivate dormant accounts.
· Increasing sales and share of business across existing customer accounts.
· Developing relationships with larger dealer groups, buying groups and key strategic customers.
· Setting clear regional objectives and monitoring individual and team performance.
· Accompanying sales team members in the field and providing practical coaching and support.
· Managing sales pipeline, forecasting and CRM standards across the team.
· Reviewing competitor activity, pricing, customer feedback and wider market opportunities.
· Working closely with marketing, operations, customer service and other internal departments.
· Supporting recruitment and development of additional salespeople as the team grows.
· Providing commercial and market insight to help shape the future direction of the business.
The Candidate
We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have experience within specialist seating, furniture, mobility, healthcare equipment or a closely related market.
You should have a strong background in B2B sales through dealers, distributors, retailers or reseller networks and ideally have experience managing or developing a field-based sales team.
You will ideally demonstrate
· Previous sales management, regional management or national account experience.
· Experience within specialist seating, furniture, mobility, healthcare equipment or a related sector.
· A strong understanding of dealer, distributor or reseller sales channels.
· Experience managing, coaching or mentoring field-based salespeople.
· A track record of developing existing accounts and generating new business.
· Strong key account management and commercial negotiation skills.
· Good understanding of sales pipelines, forecasting and CRM systems.
· The ability to analyse sales performance and turn commercial information into clear actions.
· A practical, hands-on approach combined with the ability to think strategically.
· Confidence working directly with senior management and contributing to wider commercial strategy.
· A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally when required.
Candidates with strong seating or specialist furniture experience will be particularly attractive, although relevant experience from the wider mobility, healthcare or assistive equipment markets will also be considered.
